Music is the Air I Breathe – documentary by Carrie de Swaan (VPRO, 1994)  A 70 minute award-winning film on Cathy Berberian, which includes interviews with Luciano Berio, Sylvano Bussotti, Louis Andriessen, Bruno Canino, Nicholas Harnouncourt, and Carol Plantamoura, among others.

C’è Musica e Musica – TV series created by Luciano Berio (RAI, 1971), Episode 5: ‘Mille e una voce’. In this episode, a single artist, Cathy Berberian, illustrates how to adapt the use of the voice to many different styles of singing by performing Monteverdi Purcell, Rossini, Bizet, Offenbach, Massenet, Debussy, Ravel, Gershwin, Falla, Weill, Schönberg, Berio, Bussotti and the Beatles. Different aspects of vocality are discussed, focusing in particular on the ones pertinent to contemporary music. Interviews with compsers Franco Donatoni, Pierre Boulez, Sylvano Bussotti, Elliot Carter and Aaron Copland, who express their personal considerations on the use of the voice in their own compositions.

La vie est un roman [Life is a Bed of Roses] – Feature film by Alan Resnais (1983), with cameo appearance by Cathy Berberian as La Nourrice (the nurse).

Sound the Trumpets, beat the drums – 1969 documentary by Tony Williams that chronicles an ‘east meets west’ yearly festival held in the Iranian city of Shiraz, where Cathy was invited with Bruno Maderna to perform the world premiere of Ausstrahlung, with him conducting. There are clips of Cathy exploring the city, being interviewed, and rehearsing Stripsody among the ruins of Persepolis.
